Pretty Little Wife by Darby Kane: A Book Review

Pretty Little Wife by Darby Kane is a thriller I could not put down.

One of the things I loved about this book was that Lila Ridgefield let us know early on that she planned to kill her husband, Aaron. After unearthing a horrible secret, she decided early on to take him out. She plans it out – every single detail. She executes the plan. The next morning, as she waits for him to be discovered, she gets a serious shock. Her husband’s body is not where she left it.

The Search

While Lila faces backlash from the public for not being sad enough, she sits and waits to find out where her husband’s body went and who knew her secret. Secrets from her own past come to the surface, further complicating the story. Throughout the novel you’ll wonder which characters are her friends and allies and which are plotting against her. I won’t spoil the ending, but when you turn the last page you’ll get do decide for yourself whether Lila is the hero or the villain.

I rate this book five stars for being a page-turner. The book was short, and I could not put it down. I finished it within 24 hours. If you’re looking for a quick read you can completely lose yourself in and that will quicken your heartrate, pick this one up.
