The Accidental Dating Experiment by Lauren Blakely is an Audible-only book release and the fourth book in Lauren Blakely’s How to Date series. Monroe and Juliet host a podcast on dating and breaking up with dignity. They’re past lovers whose fling lasted about a week, and in the years since, their love lives have been disastrous (more on that in a minute!).

Narrated by Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan, this audio production is a delight to listen to. I gave it five stars and highly recommend this to everyone who likes spicy rom-coms.

Bonus: It’s free for Audible Plus members!

The Accidental Dating Experiment Book Review

The Accidental Dating Experiment was the perfect book to listen to on a Friday evening walk, after a long week. Monroe and Juliet co-host a dating podcast. He’s a therapist (with a PhD in Psychiatry) and she’s a breakup-party planner. They have incredible on-air chemistry and a great following including some regular callers who have used their advice to find success in their love lives.

Juliet goes on a LOT of first dates, but she keeps swiping on guys that are just not right for her. Monroe usually identifies the problems with these men long before Juliet does, so he offers to take her on dates where he pretends to be the men she chooses on the dating apps.

What ensues is lots of steamy romance between a couple where both parties want each other desperately but can’t admit it to themselves or each other. Add the fact that the novel is read by two fantastic romance narrators, I had butterflies in my stomach and kept giddily texting my sister things like “you have to listen to this now!”

Romance novels that give me that giddiness and enjoyment always get five stars from me. If you’re an audible member, it’s a no brainer to listen to this book today. If you aren’t, the other books in the How to Date series are available free on Kindle Unlimited or available as Kindle books. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
